Dreaming about the weather, and especially rain, is very common, though it obviously has slightly different implications depending on which part of the world you live in.

Aside from the above extremes, rain is essential to nature, all life in fact. As humans, we can go weeks without food, but we can only last a few days maximum without water. However, rain is more often considered the life bringer to plants, flowers, crops and trees. Rain is also a cleanser, washing away dust and dirt. Some people often think of rain as cleansing their sins! Certainly water in dreams is connected to spirituality, it is the substance from which we are born.

Dreaming of rain can be a sign of cleansing the spirit, new beginnings and a fresh outlook.

However, if you are caught in a very heavy downpour, or even a monsoon, with floods, the dreams can signify being overwhelmed and feelings helplessness.
