I can't remember most of this so I'll mark the forgotten parts with [...].
This is very similar in nature to my first post here, "Urgent Need To Run".

Starts in a familiar place that I may have been to in two other dreams.
[...] I am running, with a backpack, on dirt ground. The same urgent drive to move/migrate/escape from something is what compels I appear to be in a park by a large river. There is snow in patches on the ground and the air is bitter cold.
A large ice floe, broken off a glacier, floats down the river. The current looks very strong. I need to take a certain path along the riverbank.
I remember a song from a childhood movie and sing it in hope the river will be calm enough should the path be visible.
I turn the bend and find the riverbank path is immensely flooded and I cannot safely walk along it. I have to turn back and find another route. [...]
I am now walking on the same highway through the forest as my first post here. The road is long and dim, and I think I saw mountains in the distance.
[...] I don't remember if I ever reached my destination, or if my journey was infinite...

I believe these dreams pertain to my feeling of need to leave my current life behind, and my desire to travel with the friend who is featured in many of my dreams. The important feeling in the dreams of running makes me believe that leaving my current waking life and traveling with the man I love is absolutely essential for me to make any progress for my own good. I am uncertain in my ability to be able to leave my home, due to medical issues (that my journey may heal), and uncertain of the trust I have in my friend if he needs to support me, and to trust in myself to support me entirely.
I don't know what to think or do.

I think your interpretation is good.

In the dream there are a couple of times where you encounter obstacles but you manage to find another way. I think that is a sign that you will be able to handle whatever obstacles come your way in waking life, whatever choice you make.
