Lately my dreams have been increasingly morbid. I had a dream about four women, one named Protique, the others unnamed. They were pregnant. They were hanged while facing each other, but each survived long enough to give birth, protique surviving 39 days after the hanging. And last night, I had a dream that I was at a table with others. They were a family of inbred, deformed people, and they were eating the flesh of their recently dead members. Worse still, they had the dead members at the table, too, wrapped in plastic and with missing body parts and flesh. One of the women commented that they were there because it was nice to have the whole family there. What do they mean
Hi parafonia. If you are consistently having morbid dreams, it can be a sign of a deeper psychological problem. I suggest that you speak to a doctor about this. Are you experiencing a lot of stress in your life or have you undergone a traumatic experience?
It could also be unexpressed creativity. Why do I think this? Because I find the dreams, as disturbing as they are, are creative in that they tell a story. Watch or read any story about a post-apocalyptic or government controlled dystopia, and you'll see elements like these. The first dream is like the women are being used or being punished for being pregnant. I find the name "Protique" to be a combination of unique and procreation. It's what comes to my mind when I read the name. Do you know of any woman who has been in a situation where she was punished for being pregnant or any type of old-fashioned morality? Do you know anyone who was used then left "hanging" without a safety net, so to speak? And what comes to mind with the number 39? Is it someone's age? A street number? The 39th thing on a list? The second dream is like a Hollywood horror flick. If you are suffering depression or stress, the dreams could also reflect that in bizarre ways. If not, I gave you something else to consider. Go beyond the horror and think about the symbols.
