Okay so I was wondering why i'm having dreams about the same person - my aunt.

We're not on good terms, havent been for years, she really controlled my life through my mum and i've finally broken free of that and i'm living my own life.

I dream about her almost every night, various types of dreams and frankly i'm getting so fed up with seeing her in my dreams - I want nothing to do with her in life, and ofcourse I want the same whilst i'm sleeping!

Anyone got any ideas?

I think that since she had a strong effect on your life, it will be hard to get rid of her in your dreams.

It's possible that you have unresolved issues relating to your relationship with your aunt. Just because someone is no longer in your life doesn't mean that all the issues you had involving them and how they treated you have been resolved.

Another possibility is that your aunt in your dream represents a negative quality in yourself that you haven't faced up to in waking life. (I'm assuming that your aunt behaves in a negative way in the dreams, since the dreams are upsetting you.)

If your aunt was actually physically or emotionally abusive, these dreams can be a symptom of post-traumatic stress.
