hi. i had 3 dreams one night last year while overseas, in one a found out my boyfriend was telling people about personal things about me, in the second i had a physical fight with my best friend (who was on the trip with me) of 6 years with whom i had never even had a verbal fight and in the third the plane i was on heading home crashed. i woke up after each one thinking how real it felt and how weird it was then fell back asleep then had the next one and so forth. the next day the events of the first two dreams took place almost exactly. so of course i was really scared that the third one would happen as well. but it didnt. but now i am overseas again and about to reurn home and im extremely scared that maybe the third dream will come true this time. please help me i cant explain how scared i am!

I'm not sure what kind of help you think we can give you; do you mean you'd like to be assured that it wont happen, which I personally doubt? Or are you hoping for some kind of intervension?

If you tell us which flight you are going on and the times et cetera, we could say prayers for you for a safe journey.

    thanks

thanks for the reply. i guess by help i mean your thoughts about if it will come true like the other dreams. i mean if anyone can explain why i had dreams that were like prophecy dreams or whatever. im pretty much sure that it will come true if the first two did. i guess i just want to know why.

What do you mean that the events of the first two dreams happened almost exactly? Can you give examples the events that happened in the dream and their counterparts in real life?

By the way, it is perfectly normal to be nervous about plane flights, so it is probably very common to dream about plane crashes.

    thanks 2

well the first dream i was walking around the club where my (ex) boyfriend worked and people kept like whispering about me and i asked some what was going on and they said ur boyf told us about so and so. then i think a couple of days later i found out off a friend that hed been saying a few things to people (he denied it of course). the second dream i dont remember too clearly just that i was somewhere with my best friend then we starting yelling and than a physical fight. the next morning (we were really drunk) there was a major misunderstanding (mainly my fault cos i was so out of it) and she beat me up. when i think about it i kinda new my ex was saying stuff about me long before that dream and actually the few weeks leading up to that fight with my friend wed been amazingly tense and angry with each other (the whole culture shock thing i think being overseas) and had one verbal fight (once again when drunk). but i dont know, ive had about 2 more dreams in my life that i remember coming true to alomost the exact detail and it actually scaring me that it happened. i do beleive in prophecy and physic powers although i dont know much about them. im just wondering what the deal is with my dreams... oh and yes ive always been extremely scared of flying but that was the only dream ive ever had about my plane crashing. is the fact that i didnt see my death a good sign?!!

Dreaming about plane crashes is very common, even more so if you're scared of flying and you're about to fly soon. As for the other things, you already said you sort of knew about some of it before it all kicked off; usually your subconscious spots things are amiss in your relationships and interactions with other people way before you fully realise them yourself, that's why you often dream about things happening before they do, because your subconscious mind is expecting them to happen, or at least thinking that they might happen.

Pretty much all your dreams are based on what your unconscious mind thinks is going on in your life, sometimes the things you dream about will actually happen, but more often they will not happen - your unconscious tries to guess at everything that could happen, so all its guesses can't be right but because there are so many guesses some of them must be right now and again just by the law of averages if nothing else. Dreams are usually more accurate than averages though because they are based on unconscious guesswork derived from everything you are doing in your life.

Of course your dreams or unconscious don't have any data on the operational status of the plane you're going to fly on (unless you are the pilot or one of its engineers) other than the fact that you are worried about it, so you are shown images of crashes to give you a chance to make sure you are certain you really want to go through with the ordeal.

You have to remember though that your unconscious mind doesn't know what a plane actually is; it doesn't know anything about flying; it only knows that thinking about this particular image frightens you and that you connect the fear of this image of flying with the image of crashing, and that you are intending putting yourself through this trauma sometime soon.

Your unconscious mind just wants you to be happy and safe and never frightened and in danger, so sometimes it shows you things about upcoming events that it knows you are frightened of, to make you think about whether or not you want to do them or not - the unconscious mind is not perfect, it can make you even more anxious sometimes that it intends, and its predictions are often completely wrong. For instance you may be taking an exam sometime soon and be very nervous about it, inevitably you will have an anxiety dream where you fail and some kind of horrible thing happens to you - yet you may go and pass the exam easily because you find the answers are easy. Your unconscious mind had no way of knowing what the answers were going to be, so it had now way of making any accurate predictions any more than you could yourself in waking life - it's the unknown outcomes in life that cause us the most anxiety, where the time leading up to an event is often far more frightening than the actual event itself.

    thanks very much

hey. thanks heaps thats actually what i was thinking i mean even though i believe some people hold psychic powers ive always believed that dreams are related to the sub conscious mind. everything u said makes alot more sense then my 'prophecy dream' theory. actually i had another dream last night that a long lost friend whom id sent a letter to replied and sure enough today i recieved her reply. i freaked out a bit again but i realised something, all my 'prophecy dreams' that came true did so the very next day. and in the letter my friend gave me the news that shes also moving back to my destination country so im taking that as a good sign. thanks heaps for ur input i appreciate it. but i would also appreciate ur prayers for my safe journey just in case!! take care.

    ?

What about psychic abilities in dreams? Some people are psychic only in their dreaming. Others are only psychic during waking hours.

    Re: ?

I'm not sure what you are asking. I think that Maljonic has given a good interpretation of the original poster's dream, which does not involve having psychic abilities.
