    Hi,

    I was wondering something. Everytime I think of certained things, I always see colours with them. I especially have this with dates. It stops around 2010, and I don't know why. Do you know if it has a special meaning or if it's just something my brains do the sort things?

    Here are some examples. For eras, (the 80's, the 70's, the 90's, etc, I all have colours too.)

    2000: White
    2001: Black
    2002: White
    2003: Light Green
    2004: Dark Green
    2005: Yellow
    2006: Red
    2007: Can't see it properly
    2008: Blue
    2009: Orange
    2010: Black

    p.s

    I forget to say, 2011 is grey and 2012 is brown. I don't know why I can's see 2007. I think it is purple or a mix between green and grey.

    I think it's your brain's way of sorting things, mine uses shapes or diagrams for the same things, always making a right-angle at the intersection on decades back to when I was born; then it goes into black and white memories and in one hundred year sectios for two hundred years; then there's a huge stretch for nearly 2000 years where it goes into colour again somewhere the other side of the middle ages, before it turns gold and twists off past Ancient Egypt and into prehistoric times, like this:

    You guys may find this interesting:

    One of the more fascinating mixing of the senses is a condition known as synesthesia, which affects about one in every 2,000 people. People with synesthesia claim that real sensory experiences trigger other entirely inappropriate perceptions. For instance, they might “see” sounds, “hear” colors, or “feel” tastes. The condition is not a new one; it has been known to the scientific community for at least 300 years, although it hasn’t been much investigated until relatively recently, and some still doubt whether it is a genuine neurological condition.

    A common type of synesthesia is “colored-hearing.” People with this condition see specific colors in their “mind’s eye” when they hear words, letters or numbers spoken out loud. The term “mind’s eye” is used because although these people see the colors in front of them, the colors don’t interfere with their normal vision. Another common type of synesthesia is “colored-touch.” People with this condition see colors when they feel certain objects.

    That's indeed correct! I do see everything in my mind. I see colours with everything. And I indeed see pictures in my head, but they indeed do not interfere with my real perception of the world, with my 'real eyes'.
    I have this with tracklistings of albums, artists, numbers, years, and much more.

    Here are the days of the week, for example:
    Monday - Red
    Tuesday - Yellow
    Wednesday - Green
    Thursday = Red
    Friday = Yellow
    Saterday = Pink/Red
    Sunday = Blue

    I also looked up something on the internet about it, and everything just ...fits, in a way. It's weird when you can read why you are the way that you are and that your way of thinking is differend. I could not imagine living without this.

    You know what I read somewhere? That it might (might!) be possible to see more colours then we actually know. Probably why I can't tell you what colours 7 means! Same goes for the 0. I cannot tell what colour this is. Everytime I try and give a discription it fails, because when I visualise this numbers, they like 'slip away'. You know what I mean? It's really weird, I know....Just thought I would share it with those of you who are/were interested :wink:

    Instead of trying to describe those unfamiliar colors, just try renaming them and see what happens. If the color is close to a purplish for example, you could call it something like slurpish or pishapurp. :eek:
