Or is it just me? It's extremely annoying. I buy a brand new watch with a brand new battery, and after wearing it for a few days to a few weeks, it's dead.

The weirdest thing that happened was a few months ago I was in the mall when I noticed my watch had stopped. Conicidentally, I was right outside a jewelry shop. So I had the battery replaced, the watch was working again, then after walking around for about 5 minutes, the watch stopped.
So I gave up on it, and when I went home put the watch away in a drawer and forgot about.

Then, about 2 weeks ago, I was looking in the drawer for something, so I noticed that the watch had restarted by itself. I put it on again, and wouldn't you know, it stopped after less than a day.

I just bought a new watch yesterday. How long do you think it will last?

I also set off the walk-through security alarms in shops sometimes, even though I haven't taken anything, which is embarassing and annoying because I have to stop and be searched. The security people are always nice, though.

    Is it just me?

You must have a magical aura or something, don't let any parapsychologists know, they'll want to do tests on you. :search5: :)

Oh. I was hoping for a scientific explanation.

    But thank you. :)

Oh, I stop those the fastest. The more expensive, generally the longer they last. I'm lucky if a cheap plastic one would last me a whole day.

What about those posh mechanical ones that wind themselves up as you move around? :)

Marcia- I found a website that has a scientific(?) explanation. It claims that many people who have had near death experiences make watches stop. Did you have a NDE :?:

No, I have never had a near death experience :)

It's some kind of weird static electric thing. I'm always getting shocked or shocking someone. Sometimes I even get blue sparks coming out of my fingers.

I can stop watches by screwing up the flow of time... but I suppose thats because I am a Time Lord... :smash:

I'm not sure you're actually stopping any watches during your time travelling exploits; I can see how it might look that way when you're staring down the wrong end of a quantillian tube at the mass of space-time continuum, but the watches are still there and moving, some backwards perhaps, but definately moving... all apart from the ones that Marcia wears of course, she's more of a time stopper than a time traveller, very magical. :eek:ne:

Oh great magical Timestopper, I find the best way to start a watch that has stopped is to beat it agaist a table, or better yet the head of the person next to you. Either way it's just a case of showing the watch who's boss... :stooges:

Now this is weird. I just went to set my watch back an hour for daylight savings time--and it's already an hour slow. I know I didn't do it before, because I would have set my alarm clock back at the same time, and I hadn't set my alarm clock. The watch has been in a drawer all day; it's the first time I'm looking at it since yesterday.

My computer did exactly the same thing, but it's meant to do that... I think your watch may be tuning into your Synchronicity :)

    Maybe it is synchonicity?

It's just a regular dial watch. It probably slowed up when I was wearing it the day before and I didn't notice it.
